Common Candidate will be Mathripala Sirisena

Maithripala, Dumminda Dissanayaka and Rajitha too at meeting!

Minister Maithripala Sirisena presented himself in front of the media this afternoon at 3.15 at New Town Hall to air his political decision. With him, those who were present were Rajitha Senaratna, Dumminda
Dissanayaka, Rajive Wijeysingha and Arjuna Ranatunga. On this occasion, former President Chandrika Bandaranaike too had come. The Minister's speech has now commenced.

A large number of media reporters had been present at this meeting.

Maithripala Sirisena, a distinguished member of the SLFP who also represents Raja Rata District is now prepared to contest as the Chief Opposition Leader against President Mahinda Rajapaksha.

The Working Committee of the UNP today (21) unanimously decided that Minister Maithripala Sirisena would be contesting as the main opponent against Mahinda Rajapaksha.

UNP parliamentarian Mr. Lakshman Kiriella spoke on the Budget Debate a short while ago and also said that there are signs that 60 would be joining the opposition from the Government and that there is information that 20 would be leaving the Government.
