Government servants' income tax phobia

Government Servants whose salaries are increased ....  now sacred of paying income tax!

Minister Rohitha Abeyagoonawardena mentioned at a meeting that according to the budget proposal presented by the President, Government Servants have been stupefied because of their increase in salary while some of them have
been gripped with fright that they may have to pay income tax.

Following are his ideas in this respect: "These days all Government Servants are keeping the calculators in their hands and are totalling up their basic salary figures. They are trying to figure out how it is added to their overtime allowances. When I asked, most of them say, 'still calculating .. sir'. Some are scared that they'll get caught to income tax".
