Robbers enter Aravinda de Silva's house!

The police have received a complaint yesterday that cricketer Aravinda de Silva's large house down Thurstan Road, Colombo has been burgled at the time he was overseas and a large stock of local as well as foreign cash which were in a safe in the house has been robbed.

It is understood that this burglary had taken place at a time when Mr. Aravinda de Silva and his wife had been on a holiday in England.
On returning home and checking the safe yesterday (21) morning around 10 he had noticed that the monies there had disappeared and after that he had lodged a complaint at Kollupitiya Police Station.

The secret manipulation of the safe was known only to Mr.Aravinda de Silva, his wife and mother only while it was revealed at the investigations that the burglars had operated this combination lock.

Though there had been 8 workers in the house when the burglary took place, they had said that they were unaware that the burglars had come into the house. The police are continuing their interrogation with them in this connection.

Aravinda de Silva also stated that a large sum of money in foreign currency belonging to a son of an expert Sri Lankan Astrologer too had been deposited in the safe.

The police have still not been successful enough to find out how the suspect who robbed the monies was able to enter the house.

Kollupitiya Police are continuing with the investigations.
