Teenage love leads to school-stabbing

 

A/L student stabs school friend ....
not being able to bear loss of Matale girl

An incident where a student doing his A/Ls had to face stabbing over an issue related to a love affair was reported from Matale. The affair had begun when the boy and girl had been attending additional classes.

Nalin Guruge, an 18 year old student of Matale St. Thomas' National School had been a victim of this stabbing by a student attending the same school. The incident has taken place around 12.30 last afternoon (19) at the school playground and both victim and assailant had been friends.

The victim told police that the assailant, his friend who had tried to possess his own girl friend had lost in his endeavour and therefore had got involved in a conflict with him as a result of which the assailant had surreptiously brought a knife t the school premises and had afterwards kept on stabbing the victim on his stomach. The latter had by this time been admitted to Matale General Hospital while the student who did the damage has been taken into custody with the knife used by him.

Police investigations confirmed that this assault is a case over an issue that has occured as a consequence of a love affair. it was also reported that the girl at the background of this incident is a student of a nearby school and that both the above mentioned students too had attended an additional class which the girl had been attending. it is learnt that the main reason for this crime was that the assailant was having ideas about the girl concerned for sometime when she happened to come in possession of another and not being able to bear it up because the other party was no other than his friend.

Police inquiries are continuing.
