Did the Malaysian flight crash with 239 passengers on board?
Did terrorists who came with bogus passports destroy the plane?
Vietnam
authorities have announced that they believe they have been able to
recover a door and some other debris from a sea-strip between Malaysia
and Vietnam which could be suspected as belonging to the passenger
aeroplane which mysteriously disappeared on Saturday (Mar 8) with 239 passengers on board while flying from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Beijing in China.
It has not been confirmed as to whether what was discovered were really parts of the missing plane.
Though Vietnamese authorities confirmed yesterday that the flight has crashed into a part of the Vietnamese sea, Malaysia refused to accept it. The said information was reported by the Vietnamese Navy.
Boeing flight no. 370 belonging to Malaysian Airways had made its departure from Kuala Lumpir airport in the capital of Malaysia at 12.40 in the morning of last Saturday. The flight was scheduled to land in the town of Beijing in China at 6.30 in the morning. However, there had been a complete breakdown in communication with the control tower of Malaysia when the flight was 120 nautical miles away from the Eastern coast of Kotabaru when it was 35,000 feet in the skies. Though the plane had disappeared, the pilot has not informed the control pillar that it had faced any danger as such. Ultimately, it was the opinion of most people that the flight may have crashed after facing some accident. There had been 152 Chinese nationals, 38 Malaysians, 12 Indonesians, 6 Australians, 3 Americans, 3 French nationals and 2 individuals each from New Zealand, Ukraine and Canada while there were 1 national each from Russia, Austria, the Netherlands, Taiwan and Italy on board this ill-fated flight.
After the disappearance of the plane, Vietnamese, Chinese and Malaysian authorities launched a special operations on the missing flight.
The Boeing 777 flight is capable of carrying about 3800 passengers at a time and is used on continuous long distance flights extending to 16 hours and is supposed to be a passenger plane of the highest calibre. By now, a time period of 48 hours has elapsed since its disappearance. While there is still no specific information about the plane, several countries are involved in investigations to find as to what happened to the flight. Among countries involved in this task are Vietnam and Malaysia being in the forefront.
In the process, there is suspicion that there is a link between this mystery and terrorist activity. This suspicion has cropped up after the list of names of the 227 passengers and 12 members of the staff on board the flight were announced by Malaysian Airlines. Though names of the Austrian and Italian nationals were included in the passenger list, it was revealed that they had not boarded the flight. As soon as 27 year old Italian, Luigi Marold's name was announced, he had given a phone call home and said that he was safe. As such, his father told the media that Luigi had not travelled on that plane. It was the same in the case of Austrian national Cristian Nossel. Though his name too appeared in the passenger-list, instead he had returned home.
Whatever it is, it was revealed that passports of both these nationals had been robbed in Thailand in the year 2013. As such, two other persons had travelled in this plane that disappeared by making use of those 2 passports; which incidentally has aroused suspicion as to whether this was some terrorist activity.
However, certain foreign news sources say that travelling on flights with such robbed passports is a common occurence and that similar incidents have been reported in Malaysian airlines prior to this.
Whatever it is, this suspicion has not been confirmed so far. Therefore, investigations are still underway. An aircraft belonging to the Vietnamese Air Force was able to observe 2 layers of oil floating on the sea waters on the Southern coastal area of the country. Vietnamese authorities say that it could be assumed that this two oil layers are from the plane that disappeared. Two Vietnamese ocean vessels and some army vessels have been sent to study information where the oil layers were detected. Apart from this, steps have been taken to employ Chinese, Phillipine, Vietnamese, Singaporean and Malaysian vessels for investigation purposes. Though it was announced that yesterday (Mar 9) by authorities that a door of the plane was found, it is still not confirmed that it belongs to this plane that has gone out of sight.
The pilot of this plane is a 53 year old Malaysian, Captain Sahari Ahamad who has a wealth of experience to his credit and has an experience of 18,365 flying hours. He had joined as a pilot in the year 1981 while his co-pilot is 27 year old Malaysian national Farik Hameed who joined the services in the year 2007. He possesses an experience of 2,763 flying hours.
If by some chance the airliner had faced some accident and crashed, it would go down in history as the most fatal air disaster which has taken place after the year 2001 where 265 people lost their lives when an airliner belonging to American Airways meeting with disaster. In the same way, this happens to be an air disaster that occupies second place as the largest accident that Boeing 777 has faced. Boeing Company who admits that such an accident did take place referring to this disappearance also refuses to express any further ideas regarding the incident.
In the meantime, unofficial sources say that the flight that had disappeared had previously met with an accident in the year 2012. The unofficial report says that the plane on that occasion had collided with another plane at Pudong Airport in Shanhai where damage had been caused to one of its wings.
Before its disappearance on Saturday, this Malaysian plane is supposed to have tried to make a return journey, according to radar signals, Malaysian authorities say. If the plane had attempted a manouvre, the question as to why the pilot of the plane did not communicate with the control tower remains unanswered. Since disappearing from the radar screen at 12.40 on Saturday morning, no information has been received.
A wide-scaled investigation has been launched to identify the two individuals who had boarded the flight. According to inquiries conducted so far, both of them had obtained their air tickets at the same time. Malaysian authorities say that 22 aircrafts as well as 40 vessels have been deployed to find information about the plane that has gone missing.
