Minister Mervyn Silva injured in accident

As a result of Minister Mervyn Silva's leg getting stuck in an electric stairways in Singapore, he had been hospitalised there recently. The Minister who has now arrived in the island explained the incident and said that he had been overseas to commemorate the New Year and
faced this mishap at a moment he had volunteered to help a small child in difficulties.

A certain small child  was about to face an accident while on an automatic staircase inside a supermarket in Singapore and when the Minister who was there had tried to rescue the child when one leg of the Minister had got trapped in the staircase and he had fallen. Those around him had immediately come to his aid on seeing that his leg had been injured, and later he was admitted to a private hospital in Singapore. The Minister who was subjected to a special surgery after which he arrived in the island on the 5th of this month. However, it is reported that he is still in an ailing condition.

It is also reported that a number of Ministers and members of parliament have sited the residence of Minister Mervyn Silva who is under treatment to inquire about his health during the past few days.
