Sports Minister's office chair on fire

A fire had erupted in the office room of Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, situated in the Department of Sports Development in Colombo 7. As a result, the chair in the room of the Minister had caught fire while an air-conditioner  too had got burnt.he fire had broken out yesterday(11) at a time when the office room was closed and the Minister was not present.

The fire brigade had arrived on the scene when the fire broke out and the fire had been extinguished. What the firemen say is that the reason for the fire may have been a current leakage in the air-conditioner.

Police said that inquiries are underway to gather evidence and to determine whether some outsider had gained entrance to the room and created this damage.

Kurunduwatta police are making further inquiries in this connection.
