World's tallest man gets married

Sultan Kosen of Turkey, holding the Guiness record for the world's tallest man, 8 feet 3 inches in height yesterday entered into matrimony and his bride Mervi Biboge had a height of 5 feet 8 inches. The difference in height between the two happened to be 2 feet and 7 inches.

   Sultan remarked that it was of course a difficult task t find someone of his own height and that he is now happy about the fact that he managed to find his destined partner in the end.

  30 year old Sultan is a farmer by occupation and was listed as the tallest man in the world,finding a place in the Guiness book in the year 2009 and upto now holds that record. Because of his height alone he has been considered as a bright citizen of that country. It is understood that the President and Prime Minister of that country had attended Sultan's wedding.

  Prior to Sultan it was Bavo Sishun,a Chinese national who was considered the tallest man in the world. His height was 7 feet 9 inches. In fact, Sultan's height was not something that was hereditary. He suffers from a rare ailment. This health condition is known as pituitary gigantism and all efforts had been taken by physicians to arrest this condition which they say ended in failure.

  This condition of Sultan was detected when he was just 10 years old and from that point onwards his height had kept on increasing. He hold 3 Guiness records to his credit. One is his height; the other for possessing the longest arm which is 11 inches in length and the next is the sole of his foot which is 14 inches in length.

  Though Sultan is presently the tallest man, there are records that there had been 10 others whose height extended beyond 10 feet. From among them, the tallest man who existed was Robert Vadlow who passed away in the year 1940. It is recorded that he possessed a height of 8 feet 11 inches.

 Sultan is still 30 years old and it is believed that he would be breaking Robert's record in future. Sultan who acquired prosperity and glory because of his extraordinary height alone happens to be a wealthy farmer. He receives frequent invitations from around the globe. Even it is he who occupies a prominent position in ceremonies and festivals. What Sultan's wife says is, "I am not worried about his height ... just as much as he's tall... he has a large heart also ... I know".
