Katunayaka expressway first night

   The Colombo -- Katunayaka expressway was open to the public after 6 in the evening yesterday after it was opened by the President last morning (27 Sunday).

    Those who were itching to travel on this new route on this very historic day eve though they had no special reason to do so, were awaiting their turn near the entry point of the expressway waiting in long queues. It was reported that thousands of vehicles have been at the queue.

    A new gadget also has been fixed at the entry point but which is not seen on expressways. It was a large digital display which could be seen by the driver denoting, in front of the vehicle the payment levied for the relevant vehicle class,when stopping to collect the ticket.
