COURT CASE ABOUT REJECTION OF LOVE

Bail allowed to troublemaker
 who pestered the gorgeous Secretary

An unmarried and pretty Addl.Secretary who had been employed in a prominent government office had been pestered by a man who was pursuing her love and not being able to bear his misbehaviour had finally filed action against him in Courts where he was released on bail after a severe warning. This incident was reported a few days ago.
The man had got to know the girl concerned through a friend of hers.
It is said that in the initial stages, the introduction which took place on an official status later had turned into a friendship going to the extent of the man visiting the girl at her workplace and her home where she was living with her parents.
The man had been sending her messages via sms and phone continuously which made her understand that he was trying to get her attention. Subsequently she had inquired about it directly and she was told that he was in love with her. Since there was a big age-gap between the two, she had said that she maintained a relationship shown to an elderly person.
She had also said that she had not even dreamt of having an intimate relationship with him. So saying she had rejected him.
Instead of backing out in such a situation, the man had further become a nuisance to her, constantly pleading for her love. He had later on visited her at her workplace and have taken along gifts for her on a number of occasions and had misbehaved saying that he wished to meet her. Though the girl had continuously told him not to keep hopes about her and not to visit her either, he had still persisted in his visits and phone calls which had turned out to be a daily occurence. Later on he had got the aid of a third party and had made an effort to change her mind.
Though she had told him that she entertained no idea of love for a man who was about 10 years elder to her while she was 25 years old, the following day itself he had visited her and had begged her for her love with tears in his eyes. It was after realising that this episode was not going to end that she had made a complaint to the police on instructions from her parents. The police having got him down, had discussed the issue in her presence and he was then reprimanded not to pay any more visits to her. Though she had thought that the problem was over had taken a sigh of relief when three days later he had begun to indulge in his usual behaviour of visits to her workplace and home and even after she had turned a blind eye on him he had persisted in remaining there, thus becoming a further nuisance.

In the meantime, a meeting was supposed to take place in Colombo in a five-star hotel and the girl had gone there to represent her institution in the company of another female Addl.Secretary. The man who somehow had come to know that the girl would be present at the meeting had turned up and suddenly occupied a seat nearby causing a shock to the girl. He had even gone to the extent of touching her hands and engaging in a sort of romantic dance. Immediately she had brushed him aside and tried to hurry away when he had slapped her on her face, thus embarassing those present. After this incident she gripped with the fear  of losing her self-respect and also a threat to her life.
Understanding that it was not possible to find a solution to this terrible nuisance even after informing the police, she had sought legal assistance on the instructions of the police. Subsequently, after the police had informed Courts about the suspect, A.P. Wijesinghe, both the Fort Magistrate and Addl.District Judge Gihan Pilapitiya had warned the suspect severely while ordering a fine of Rs.3000 also saying that if in future the suspect was to continue with such nonsense, his bail would be refused and in addition he would be remanded.                                                                                                                  He was also told that since it was necessary to monitor his behaviour, he was to report every Sunday to the Fort Police station. Finally he was made to promise in the presence of the Judge that he would no longer be a nuisance to the girl concerned.
