The homecoming had been held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo to which 900 guests had been invited. It is learnt that for the wedding and homecoming the invitees had been served with the most expensive foreign liquor. The wedding and homecoming expenses had amounted to several million rupees.
The bride and the bridegroom had had travelled to the hotel and left after the wedding and had come for the homecoming in helicopters. It is also learnt that all invitees had been presented with very expensive mementos in appreciation of their presence at the wedding and the homecoming.
