VINIL’S SON’S HOMECOMING
It is learnt that the wedding of Ratnapura’s wealthy gem merchant Vinil’s son’s wedding that took place the other day at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel in Colombo, had been the wedding in the Sri Lankan history that had borne the highest amount of money for the wedding expenses.
The son of ‘Vinil Menik’ merchant is Dinesh Chathuranga and he was married to Hasini Alawathuwala who is the daughter of District Provincial Council Member for Kurunegala Chandana Alawathuwala.
The homecoming had been held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo to which 900 guests had been invited. It is learnt that for the wedding and homecoming the invitees had been served with the most expensive foreign liquor. The wedding and homecoming expenses had amounted to several million rupees.
The bride and the bridegroom had had travelled to the hotel and left after the wedding and had come for the homecoming in helicopters. It is also learnt that all invitees had been presented with very expensive mementos in appreciation of their presence at the wedding and the homecoming.
It is also learnt that another homecoming reception has been arranged on Sunday at Ratnapura also on a very grand scale.
