HUSBAND WHO CLIMBED UP A TREE IN GOWER STREET, HAVELOCK TOWN REQUESTING HIS WIFE TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO SRI LANKA:

Yesterday, a husband of a Middle East migrant worker in Jordan in protest as his wife had not received wages for three months from her employer had climbed up a tree in Gower Street in Havelock Town. His request is that she be brought back to Sri Lanka. In this regard this person a resident of Thummodera had made several pleas to the related authorities at the Foreign Employment Bureau of Sri Lanka, but had been of no avail and hence he had made this protest to draw the attention of the authorities of the Foreign Employment Bureau of Sri Lanka.
This person had climbed up the tree around 11.45 a.m. and had made the protest. He had made a request to the Police personnel to intervene and to obtain a redress for him by resolving his request that his wife’s employer had failed to pay her wages for three months. His plea is to get her back to Sri Lanka as soon as possible.

THE CHAIRMAN OF PRADESHIYA SABHA DOMPE AND MEMBER IN BRIBERY NET

A businessman from kirindiwela who is having a land in Dompe area had wanted to take a permit to commence a metal ‘Quarry’. He had requested for a permit from the Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha. The Chairman and the Member had wanted a bribe of Rs 75 lacks to issue the permit requested for. The two had wanted an advance payment of Rs four lacks initially. The businessman had agreed and had wanted them to be present at a private bank in the Dompe area to accept the advance payment.
Before giving the appointment to the Chairman Milan Jayatillake of the UNFA party and his Member, Ajit Sisira Kumara, the businessman had informed the officers of the Bribery Corruption and Prevention Authority to be present at that bank. When the bribe was taken the two had been nabbed by these officers. They have been produced before the Magistrate and had been ordered to be remanded until the 20th of this month.
The Officers’ of the Bribery Corruption and Prevention Authority are conducting investigations.

THE JAPANESE NATIONAL WHO CHANGED THE LION SYMBOL IN OUR NATIONAL FLAG INTO A ‘PANDA’

A Japanese National who had tried to post a stock of post cards with the ‘Lion’ symbol in our national flag changed into a ‘Panda’ from the post office in Mt Lavinia. An officer who had dealt in this exercise had observed that the picture on the cards had a distorted nature. The Lion symbol in our National flag had been distorted and the Lion image had been turned into a ‘pada’ symbol carrying a sword.
He had very wisely informed the police who had arrested the Japanese National. When his hotel room of the Japanese National SINSIR KAVISEEMAO was checked the Police had found a further 130 such greeting post cards. This post card had distorted the image of the our National flag which is of much pride to all Sri Lankans.
The Japanese national in defence had told that he had printed the greeting cards for the coming 2013 New Year and not with any intention of defaming and distorting the Sri Lankan National flag.
The suspect Japanese National was produced before the Mt.Lavinia Magistrate who had ordered him to be remanded until the 30th of this month.
