The defendant lawyer who is representing the Member of Parliament Duminda Silva on the murder case of Bharatha Lakshman has stated that he will be released soon because there is no evidence against him.

Magistrate of Colombo has ordered to bring a report on Duminda Silva’s brain injury and the case has been postponed to the 29th of this month. It is reported that Duminda Silva will be released from been a suspect very soon.

Hirunika spoke to the media after hearing the case and she was in tears when she spoke about her father. She has stated that that she has not been selling her father’s name. She also said that she is planning to surprise every one very soon.
An extract from her speech is as below:

“My father is facing injustice every day. When I got into Polonnaruwa, Hingurakgoda stage on behalf of UPFA, many said that I sold my father’s name. But I will never do such a thing. Everybody tried to drag me into several parties. As the only daughter of Bharatha, I will never do anything to harm my father. I can clearly point out the injustice faced by my father from the party. They fired my father from the position of an Organizer and they offered that to another. Everybody knows what was happening in Kolonnawa. We are facing a lot of injustice from the case that is being heard in courts. Very soon, the lawyers will say that my father shot himself. I would like to tell the people who loved my father that I can’t bear these anymore. I will soon take a decision. I believe and I know that people in Kolonnawa will help me. I also know that the Buddhist priests in Kolonnawa temples too are with me against this injustice. I will fight till the murderers of my father will be punished. I don’t care what will happen to me, I will fight for justice…”
