ANOTHER MURDER AT KAHAWATTA

Another murder of an elderly woman at Kahawatta is reported:

Mother of two children cut and chopped to death in a most cruel manner:

Many would have thought that the spate of murders that occurred in kahawatta is now over. However yesterday the 31st around 6 p.m, a mother of two children had been cut and chopped to death with a sharp weapon at her own residence. This murder is reported from the same area,  that is Kotakethana, Warapitiya area in kahawatta. The murdered woman is V.D.Chandrawathie, a 66 year old. She is supposed to have lived with her son 25 years old in the house. Her husband had been working in a tea estate in Kahawatta. Her daughter is married and had been living in another area.
At the time of the murder it is reliably learnt that she had lived all alone in the house. Her son who works as a field officer in a private estate in Kahawatt area.When the son came home after work he had found his mother to be missing. He had looked for her and had found her body in a pool of blood in a corner of the house collapsed and  fallen.
As a condition looked to be bad he had summoned the relatives and neighbours around to come. They had brought this tragic news to the Police at a nearby Police check point. The Police had arrived and had taken the body to the Kahawatta Base hospital OPD. The doctor on duty had pronounced that she is already dead.
When investigations were carried out the Police had told that the murderer after entering the house premise had locked the gate with a piece of wood. A few months back two elderly women were also murdered, the same murderer is suspected to have committed this murder too. He had been bailed out by the courts and had been seen loitering in the kahawatta area. The Police suspects that this person is  responsible for this murder too. This is the 15th murder reported from the kotakethana area of the kahawatta Police division.
