TWO CRICKET FANS COMMIT SUICIDE AFTER T 20-20 DEFEAT

It has been reported that two youths have committed suicide by hanging
themselves after Sri Lanka lost the final ICC World 2012 T/20 match

One youth had been from Hatton and the other had been a resident of Padukka.
Mahendran Surendran who had been residing in Kuda Oya in Hatton had watched the match at one of his neighbor’s. After the match had been over, he had gone home and forced his mother and sister to walk out of the house. Afterwards, he had hung himself. Post mortem had been done today and it had been reported that he had been depressed after Sri Lanka lost the match.
The other youth had been a resident of Padukka. It had been reported that he had watched the match at Galle Face and after the match he had come home disappointed about the loss and had gone to bed after dinner. The family had later found him dead as he had hung himself on the mango tree in front of the house.
Even though, Sri Lanka had lost three matches (two ODI finals and one T/20 final ) earlier, this is the first time such incidents had been reported.
