ROYAL THURSTAN STUDENTS ON A CLASH AGAIN

A small war in Colombo between Thurston and Royal college’s students on the road:
Thurston Royal battle had continued for the third day on the road in close proximity to the two schools. This had caused a traffic jam in Colombo Reid Avenue and the other roads around the colleges. It had been their third time in having a huge fight. It was reported that the students have fought in the middle of the road and that they have been throwing stones at each other.
The Police who had attempted in resolving the issue too had been attacked with stones and they have caused a lot of damages to property. It was reported that some students about eight in all mostly Royal college students and a few Police officers who had been injured had been admitted into Colombo General Hospital.
In the last week’s battle had caused extensive damage to a private bus in Nugegoda.
The Minister of Education, Bandula Gunawardena have advised the two Principals of the two colleges not to allow the students in Grades 10,11, 12, and 13 to come for classes. They have requested to commence classes only on the 30th of this month.
