PRESIDENT’S SRI LANKAN AEROPLANE DEFECT ISSUE RESOLVED

The slight defect found in the Sri Lankan UL 1207 which made the President to fly in another Sri Lanka Airline plane was not that of a serious nature:

Hon.President Mahinda Rajapaksa was to leave on an official tour of Dubai for four days on the 21st in a Sri Lankan Airline flight No UL 1207.A thorough security check was made by the President’s security and Sri Lankan Air lines technical staff with regard to the engine and was declared fit to take off. However a slight defect was found in an air conditioner inside the air craft which was revealed by the Crime Detection Department just before takeoff. As there was some doubt that this would be somewhat detrimental to President’s life another air craft of the Sri Lanka Airlines was arranged for him to fly.
The UL 1207 air craft has had only a very slight defect which was not at all of any serious nature. Hence this slight defect was not for any sort of sabotage was completely ruled off.
