DECEPTIVE CONDOM FOUND WAS THE CAUSE TO KILL WIFE

The husband had killed his wife after finding a suspicious condom in his garden:

A verbal conflict between a husband and wife which had led to a suspicious verbal heated argument with regard to condom found in he garden premises had finally led to the killing of wife due to strangulation of the neck.
The deceased in Chitra Iranganie is a 32 year old mother. She had k=lived with her second husband not for very long in Puttalam in the Pawattamedura area. Last week her husband had gone for work as usually but had suddenly returned home early suddenly in the afternoon which was unusual of him.
When he stepped into the garden, he had seen a condom thrown into the garden, which had been used only very recently used as it could be seen from its freshness. Immediately he had questioned his wife about this condom. She had said “I do not know who had thrown it away”.
The husband was not satisfied with the answer. He was very annoyed and became more suspicious when a telephone call had come to wife’s mobile which she had cut without answering. As she could not give proper answers to the questions posed he had become further suspicious, about her having an illegal love affair. This made him very wild and the argument became very heated. The husband through sheer anger had squeezed her neck which had resulted in her death owing to strangulation.
This person did not know what to do as the dead body of his wife was inside the house. He had been thinking what to do without been caught for murder for a number of hours. For about 12 hours he had been thinking while seated and consuming liquor. He had ultimately thought of dumping her body in the .Mee Oya’ which was bordering to his premises. After it was dumped he had informed the neighbours that his wife had gone to visit her ancestral home and not returned yet. He had wanted to know from them whether they knew any news about her.
Her body was found on the banks of the ‘Mee Oya’ a couple of days later. It was learnt that the deceased has had a previous love affair also before he got married. The deceased it is learnt has had a child 14 years old, had left her earlier husband and had got married again. Presently she has a child five years old, the step father is the suspect in this case.
It is learnt that it was the third time she had been caught having illegal love affairs. When the Police was conducting investigations they had suspected that the murderer is the present husband, the manner he was giving his evidence. The case was heard in the Puttalam District courts recently and the suspect husband was ordered to be remanded until the 23rd when the case is to be heard again.
