The day the old boy ‘fathers’ came to PRINCE OF WALES College as students:
In the recent past a wonderful, hilarious old boys days full of humour had been organised by the Old Boys Association of the Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa. This event was very peculiar and hitherto not done in any other school’s ‘Old Boys Day’.
The old boys had taken prior permission from the Principal to have this year’s Old Boys day in a peculiar and unusual manner.
All old boys were asked to come on that day just like they attended school when they were in school. They had to be attired in the school uniform, in white shirt and white shorts and had to come with a bottle of water that is usually carried by the students and a school bag.
They as usually done had to enter the classrooms like they did while at school and they were asked to sit on the desks where an elderly teacher taught them, while they listened to the teacher. The old boys who came were in there 30’s, 40’s, and even 50’s.During the interval as the present boys they ran to the play ground to play and returned to the class rooms and left only when the bell was rung.
They had also organised a felicitation ceremony for the old teachers who had thought the old boys.
Most Old Boys had quipped that they had to stitch new dresses like white shorts and shirts in order to participate in the ‘Old Boys Day’ which was very well organised very eventfully with music as well. All old boys had said that they would never forget this day.
