Suspect of triple murder arrested
The main suspect in the triple murder at Wellawatta,Prashan Kumaraswamy had been caught and arrested by the Police in Kadawatha area a few hours ago. This has been confirmed by the Police.
The son who is suspected to have committed the murders intends committing suicide- the message conveyed to a related sister via an E mail:
Prashan kumaraswamy who shocked the entire Sri Lanka by committing the murders of his Father, Mother and Sister inside his rented out room at Ramakrishna Road, Wellawatta and gone into hiding to escape from the Police had sent an E mail message to related elder cousin Sister by name Rosy. This is the latest information about the suspect, Prashan kumaraswamy.
She had informed the Police in this regard. The Police had got it confirmed that the E mail had been sent from a lap top while at a restaurant in Colpetty. In it he had confessed having committed the murders of his Father, Mother, and Sister and that he too hopes to take away his life by committing
suicide.The E mail message read as follows:
“Sister, please forgive me. I felt to be a loser in life. I did harm to my father and Mother .I have made a full stop to our lives. I am also going to their worlds. You could trace my dead body from a lonely place in my village. I am not a bad person. Please think of me and cry at least once. Tell your kids that would have very much liked to see them. Please see to the interests of my girl friend, Nithyakala. She is innocent. I am now leaving Colombo 3”.
The dead bodies were found on the 18th evening. The E mail message had been sent on the 18th night. Police had later questions all his associates, friends and his girl friend. It is learnt reliably that he is in debt to tune of over Rs 30 Lahks to several people and had been undergoing a lot of stress in paying the debts.
The Police also suspect that he may have fought with his father to grab his Provident Fund money he withdrew.
