Eheliyagoda’s Kasun had been punished with death by his girl friend’s father for going after her whom he had loved
During a particular stage of life, boys go after girls and that is just a fever during the time of youth. It is very unfortunate to hear when a boy has to pay from his life for doing that. A boy was stabbed to death in the middle of Eheliyagoda town for going after a girl whom he had loved.
It was reported that the boy had attempted to threaten the father with a knife and the same knife had been turned against him and he had been stabbed to death. He had died in front of the Zebra crossing near Eheliyagoda Police station.
Kasun Maduranga had been 18 years old and he had been seeking the love of a grade 10 student of a school in Bulugahapitiya, Eheliyagoda.
After this incident, the girl had told:
“I am still studying in grade 10. Kasun is an elder brother who has finished his studies. He had been troubling me asking me to get into a relationship with him. On his last day too, he came on a motor bike and asked me to get into in saying that he will drop me. When I refused, he said that he would kill me and that he will kill himself afterwards. One of my teachers had seen this and she sent me to the town where my mother works by a van.
To see Kasun had followed the van and he had come to the place where my mother works and again asked me to get into the motorbike. Then my mother told this to my father over the phone. My father came soon afterwards and told me to come with him to the Police station. On our way to the police station, I saw him hitting my father with his helmet. .. then they started fighting and my father advised me to run to the Police station without standing there. That’s all I know.
When he proposed me to him I told my mother and she said not to get involved with rowdies ever.”
Kasun’s parents are telling completely a different story to what the girl has been saying. According to them, Kasun had been in a relationship with this girl.
The dead boy’s father had told:
“Our son was in a relationship… We heard about that from other people and we didn’t like it all. On the day he died, he had gone on my motor cycle without my consent. I never knew that he would fall into such trouble.”
Kasun’s mother had told:
“Our son called me at around 1O’ clock and told me that he is going to see his girl friend. This has been routine and he goes to see his girl friend everyday when the school finishes. He didn’t study properly. He was to sit for the exam in 2010 and he had seen some Hindi movie and tried some trick in that to the school emulating what was in the film He had worn a chain around his neck and thus he was suspended from school. After that he stopped schooling. But he hadn’t done anything wrong to be killed as such.”
Jayalath Weheragoda, the father of the girl had been arrested and the Eheliyagoda Police is conducting further investigations on this case.
