SLPL has become another cricket tournament like in India
Even though, the Indian cricketers have withdrawn, out of the seven auctioneers, six are still from India.
Yesterday the Sports Minister had received a report about the number of cricketers that are to participate at the latest 20-20 cricket league called SLPL which is a model of IPL. Accordingly, it had been reported that out of 7 teams 6 had been bid by Indian companies. One Sri Lankan company had bid for one team.
Thus, it shows that even though the cricket matches are held in Sri Lanka, it had become a lucrative business like the IPL. The most surprising thing is that even though a number of companies are interested in this, none of the Indian cricketers are taking part. The reason behind it is that the Indian Cricket Board had censored them from playing in it.
It had been reported that 15 companies have bid for IPL and the minimum bid had been for 4.3 million dollars.
This tournament is to be held from the 10th of August onwards.
