At a time when via websites brickbats and stones are hurled Tele drama actress Udayanthi Kulatunga is for it and says it a good thing. She had confessed her views ti the tabloid edition “Meevitha” of Divaina newspaper:
Gossip makes actors and actresses to get a better ‘market’. Those few stars ho had been given publicity via website ‘gossip’ have gained popularity. She is one person who had been benefited. She is for gossip and conveyed that she is happy about gossip.

What she had confessed to the ‘Meevitha’ tabloid edition is appended below:

“Really and frankly speaking, it is not correct to publish incorrect gossip in websites. To tarnish an image through incorrect gossip is harmful. Gossip which is published enables actresses to get the opportunity to be invited to portray and contribute for good characters. Popularity comes automatically through ‘marketing’. I regard gossip having a distinct advantage. I do not consider at all as a disadvantage and harmful. To say the truth or not it is for a special character. I feel that no one should be ashamed and be unhappy about gossip. All are not given publicity via websites. Only a selected few are afforded this unique opportunity. I see the gossip as a very good thing to be highlighted in gossip websites”
