MALINGA KICKS OUR DOLLAR OFFER IN FAVOUR OF IPL CONTRACT OFFER AMOUNTING TO A MASSIVE SUM OF US$ 11 LACKS:

Lasith Malinga owing to a back strain injury has returned from the IPL cricket tournament now in progress in India. He had declined rather unfortunately refused to sign the cricketer’s player agreement as requested by the authorities of the Sri Lanka Cricket.
 It is pertinent to state that Lasith Malinga is one among the top of the list of contracted players. As he had expressed to the SLC that would only participate in ODI’s and T/20’s only and not in Tests his contracted amount had been pruned down to 40% of the usual contracted fee given to a player.
It is learnt that discussions are on to allow the option open to any player to sign the agreement for any particular tour or series of their choice. This option is in contrast to the present system of signing on a player for a specified period. The Secretary of SLC Nishantha Ranathunga had confirmed about this new theory.

MERCY EDIRISINGHE FALLS SICK AND HOSPITALISED:

It is reported from well informed sources that famous stage actress, popular singer and radio artist Mercy Edirisinghe has been admitted to the Ragama Teaching Hospital for treatment for an ailment.

FOR THE CONFLICT BETWEEN ANGELINE AND AMILA- AMILA ANSWERS TO THE MEDIA:

Angeline Gunatillake the very popular playback singer had without mentioning a particular name of a one particular singer had disclosed to the media that some singers are singing her songs and are earning heaps of money. This allegation ‘Sirasa’ super star singer Amila Nadishanee claims is aimed at her. Today Amila Nadishanee has made a statement to ‘Lakbima’ newspaper and her version to this allegation is as follows;
“According to her the allegation of famous singer Angeline Gunatilake had been directed and aimed at me, for them I have no doubt at all. Yet I cannot deny that these allegations are aimed directly at me. I do not care about these allegations. As a very famous, elder accomplished singer, I really respect her. I prefer not to talk against her allegations made. Currently I too have composed a number of songs of my own which I sing at musical shows quite often.
However I wish to state that many on a number of occasions when the band which provides the music cannot back the songs I had composed i am compelled to sing not only Angeline’s but also the songs of other famous female artists.”

A MEDIA RELEASE BY ANGELA:

There were many stories in the media with regard to the parcel containing ‘Hashsih’ was sent in my name, which were tried to be collected by two British nationals from the Central Mail Exchange situated at D.R.Wijewardena Mawatha. In this case Angela had to face a lot of embarrassments and had to bare a tremendous pain of mind for something she was not involved. To clear the doubts among her many ardent fans she had made a press release to explain her innocence. The media release is as follows:
“I wish to express my views about the huge uproar with regard to the ‘Hashish’ parcel that was sent in my name by an unknown person to be cleared at the Central Mail Exchange. I wish to state without any reluctance that I have nothing to do with this parcel incident and I am an innocent victim to it. This has been proved when investigations were carried out by questioning me by the Police Narcotics Bureau. I am indebted to them as well as to the all media personnel who published impartial and unbiased news about this case.
However certain media without consulting me and knowing the truth of the case had made biased information accusing me, which caused me a tremendous pain of mind. This information may have been the cause for terminating my services at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia where I had served them honestly for a period of 11 years.
At these difficult times I underwent in the recent past, I am ever grateful to the Police personnel who conducted investigations very impartially, without any harassment whatsoever and also for not causing the slightest discomfort to me and also proving me as innocent”.

THE BRITISH NATIONAL WHO CAME TO COLLECT THE PARCEL, WHEN PRODUCED TO COURTS PLAYS HIDE AND SEEK WITH A PILLOW:

The British national who came to collect the parcel addressed to Angela to the central Mail Exchange at D.R.Wijewardena Mawatha was nabbed and arrested by the Police. He was produced before courts the other day and was refused bail.
 When this Foreign National was escorted to the courts, he had tried to evade taking his photographs and had tried a ploy to cover his face with a pillow. Our cameramen were shrewd enough to take a snap shot before he could cove his face with the pillow he carried.
