‘Queen Elizebeth’ passenger ship of U.K. arrives at the Colombo harbour for matter of few hours only.
The renowned passenger ship ‘Queen Elizebeth’ of the United Kingdom carrying about 2000 passengers arrived in the Harbour of Colombo last week. The arrival was given a very warm welcome jointly by the Sri Lanka Tourist Board Promotion Authority and the Ports Authority personnel.
The passengers were mainly from the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, South Africa and France. However the ship remained in the harbour only for period of a few hours. The ship left on the day itself after arrival at 6 p.m. and headed to Mumbai.
It is learnt that 20 similar ships are due to come to our harbour in Colombo during the course of this year.
