Stop to India/Sri Lanka cricket matches-Order from Magistrate of Madras High courts:
A peculiar order has been issued by the Magistrate of Madras High courts to the Indian Central Government to stop playing cricket matches between India and Sri Lanka on an issue heard with regard to harassment of Tamil Nadu fisherman by the Sri Lankan fisherman folk at the Bay of Bengal. The order has been issued to the authorities of the Indian Board of Control for Cricket as well in addition to the Indian Central Government.
This harassment had been going on for some time, was disclosed at the hearing of a case filed by the Tamil Nadu Fishermen. It is learnt that this harassment has continued while Sri Lanka and India cricket matches were in progress.
As this matter has prolonged it had been suggested by the Magistrate of Madras High courts to issue this very peculiar order, requesting India not to participate with Sri Lanka as opposing teams in cricket matches. This order is yet to receive any response by the India’s Central Government or the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
