SRI LANKA MUST WIN TODAY

This Match is Sri Lanka’s final in an attempt to win the CB ‘Series’ tournament

Today Sri Lanka play the second of the best of three finals in the CB ‘Tri Series’ tournament, having lost narrowly by 15 runs in the first match against Australia at the Gabba stadium last Sunday.
The second match in the ‘best of three’ finals is played between the hosts Australia and Sri Lanka at the Adelaide oval supposed to take spin. Hence both teams would like to add the extra spinner to the side. For Sri Lanka it is likely that off spinner Sachithra Senanayake would get the nod from the selectors.
Sri Lanka has a very bad record at the ADELAIDE OVAL having played 16 games and lost 12 of them. Against India in the qualifying game, the result was a tie. Hence Sri Lanka had lost 12 matches which is not a happy hunting ground.
In the ‘Tri series’ best of three finals in the CB series in the year 2006 Sri Lanka beat Australia at the Adelaide Oval by a narrow margin of 22 runs. Dishan impressed in his fielding abilities and brought about 4 dismissals through run outs which helped Sri Lanka’s cause in winning.
In the previous game opener left hander David Warner made the highest individual score of 163 runs at the Gabba was named ’Player of the match’ is doubtful for this match as he is nursing a back strain. Peter Forest is due to take his place.
Today’s crucial game is very vital for Sri Lanka as a loss in this match would mean that Australia would be declared winners of The CB ‘tri series’ winners. The third match is scheduled to be played also at
The  third final at the Adelaide oval on the 8 th will not be played if Sri Lanka loses this 2nd final..
