Sri Lankan woman mysteriously burnt to death
Last Thursday close to Bahrain’s Al Jazeera hotel in Manama apartment, a Sri Lankan woman is reported to have been found burnt to death.
It is learnt that the deceased is 42 years old, who had come to Bahrain 8 years ago. Her body had been found in the kitchen of the apartment where she had lived. An Indian companion who had lived with her had found her dead with burn injuries at various parts of her body, when he visited the apartment. As she had been burnt at several parts of her body, he had told the Police that her death is a mysterious one.
When the authorities of the Sri Lankan Bahrain Council arrived at the scene it had revealed by the investigations conducted that her original name differed from that was in her passport, according to their records. This had arisen suspicion of the Embassy Authorities. Her present name had not been recorded in the books at the Embassy.
Although the deceased had been in close association with her companion, he too had failed to furnish information in regard to the change of her name. It is reported that the Council Authorities and the police are jointly conducting investigations to get at the root cause of this mysterious death.
