NO MADAM I AM GEETHA ONLY

"I never had a need to be addressed as “Madam”…
She is angry with me as I reported her to the administration
She must be the one who had instigated Major"

Geetha Kumarasinghe called Gossip Lanka in order to correct the news published about her firing Anusha Batawala, the Divisional Secretary of Pradeshiya Divisional Secretariat Office in Elpitiya. This is what she told us:
“This is totally a wrong accusation. They would have cooked up stories out of jealousy thinking that they will face disadvantages in the future since I am working for the area.
I am an artist.. I have never wanted to be addressed as “madam”.
..that Anusha Batawala has been talking to me in a friendly manner and we didn’t have any enmities. I have reported the Administration, about her acceptance of bribes and about her wrong Administrative decisions.  I have done that since I have a responsibility as a representative of the people. Her faults have been discussed at the Pradeshiya Sabha and they have been published in newspapers as well. Read the article which was published in 2010.
She must be angry for those things. It was reported to me that this transfer had been given in accordance to one of her requests. She had got a transfer from Elpitiya to Hikkaduwa. Had it been for a long distance we can at least justify it. This had been done to insult me. I think this had been due to mere jealousy towards me since I am working for that area.
The other thing is that, I know how that the Major who accused me at the Pradeshiya Sabha got the votes. .. He was not a soldier who got injured at the war, he was injured from another accident yet he got votes saying that he made sacrifices for the war. .. He also calls himself an Advocate. But as it was reported to me he had been only a tourist guide… It is very funny.”
