KOTTE PEOPLE IN THE VICINITY HAVE ATTACKED THE LAWYER OF DEFENDANTS:

The Lawyer who defended the suspects attacked in the court premises and a spittoon containing beetle ‘spit’ powan over his head:

The Lawyer Sumith Silva who appeared for the suspects in the double murder case of Monks at the Rajamaha Viharaya which was heard at the Magistrates Courts in Nugegoda/Gangodawila courts, has got a taste of medicine from the people mainly devotees living in the vicinity of the Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya.
When the lawyer was coming out of courts after the hearing he had been severely attacked by devotees of the Rajamaha viharaya and one woman had screamed “ Are you not a Buddhist” had dragged the Lawyer on to a parapet wall and had poured a a ‘spittoon’ containing beetle ‘spit’ on his head.
The Lawyer it is learnt had to be admitted to hospital for treatment of the injuries caused to him in this incident after making a complaint to the Police.
