For not addressing Geetha Kumarasinghe as Madam,  A Lady Divisional Secretary has been transferred:

The Divisional Secretary of Elpitiya ,S.O Anusha Batawala has been transferred to another division recently. This was a sudden transfer for this lady Divisional Secretary, who had done an immense amount of work and service for her area. The reason for the transfer is that she had not taken much regard for the Chief ‘Organiser’ of Elpitiya, UPFA, Geetha kumarasinghe and not addressing her as ‘Madam’. The real reason was revealed at a meeting of a Southern Provincial council meeting.
The Member of the Parliament UPFA of Galle District, had questioned as to why an officer in the calibre of Divisional Secretary, who had been doing hard work for the area had been transferred for such a very minor cause without allowing her to continue with the good work she had been doing.
For showing political weight age for such a minor matter, it is suggested that the matter be investigated and probed by the Ministry of Public Administration as an impartial inquiry.
However the Acting Government Agent of Galle had told that this transfer had been requested by the Division Secretary of Elpitiya, and the transfer had been effected accordingly.
