BRIBE TAKING ASP CAUGHT RED HANDED

ASP of Mihirana Police Station caught in the act of taking a bribe of Rs 2 Lakhs:

A Police officer in the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police has been nabbed by the Authorities of Bribery and Corruption department. A woman had wanted a group of people to be chased off from a welfare building who had  occupied forcibly, close to the cancer hospital premises.
This action to be implemented was negotiated for a sum of Rs 1.2 m by this particular woman and the Assistant Superintendent of Police. For this act the ASP had asked for a bribe of Rs 1.2 m. She had agreed to offer initially an advance of Rs 2 lakhs. She had requested the ASP to come to a temple close to Wijerama/Maharagama to give an advance for which the ASP had agreed. Simultaneously she had informed the Bribery and Corruption Department, who had been successful to nab the ASP while accepting the bribe. This had happened today the 9th evening.
The ASP, is Nihal Rangith Mendis attached to the Mihihana Police Station had had been immediately arrested.
