Marketing of a newspaper via dead actor Anton Jude:

Today the 30th on Swarnavahini’s Live @ 8 news bulletin during a break suddenly a commercial advertisement was shown for marketing a newspaper. Late Anton Jude who passed away only last week, who’s demise shocked entire Sri lanka as he was such a liked artist, portrays the only role in this prominent commercial advertisement where he says ‘wata pita’, ‘wata pita’.
This type of advertisement would definitely bring disrepute and disgrace to his life and personality which was loved by his fans. The commercial advertisement no doubt would attract the ‘clients’. This advertisement should not been shown at this time as commercial gains he had passed only a week ago. It is definitely against ethics at this period of time. It has been telecast purely for marketing strategies.
A similar case should be reminded after the demise of legendary actor Henry Jayasena. An advertisement of a ‘balm’ was shown just after his demise for marketing benefits. These are against our culture and subjected to criticism.
