BOMB EXPLOSION AT SRI JAYEWARDENAPURA CAMPUS

PROTEST PROCESSION OF SRI JAYRWARDENAPURA UNDERGRAGUATES UP TO KOLLUPTIYA 

Protest procession only up to Kollupitiya 
After the bomb explosion at the Sri Jajewardenapura premises a protest procession took place with the participation of a thousands of undergraguates.This had made many main roads to be blocked which affected the school children. The protestors were stopped by the Police at Kolluptiya. There is suspicion as to whether the protest procession was pre planned or it was decided after the petrol bomb explosion.

The protest procession of Undergraduates of Sri Jayewardenapura University, Gangodawila causes a road block on High Level Road:

It is reported that after the petrol bomb explosion incident in the morning at the Sri Jayewardenapura University premises a large number of undergraduates both Male and female have gathered near the Wijerama junction and engaged in a procession. This has caused a huge traffic block near the Wijerama junction and along the High level road.

Bomb explodes at Sri Jayewardena Pura -Campus premises

A petrol bomb had exploded this morning within the Sri Jayewardena pura Gangodawila campus premises. No one is reported injured but damages had been caused to the Buddha statue and to part of the building.
It is learnt that to prevent ragging of new entrants, the University authorities had deployed a special security team ( Marshals).This incident may have been made in protest to send them off. It is learnt by that faction who likes the ragging to go on. Due to this incident a number of lectures scheduled have been cancelled. Investigations in this regard are been conducted.
