ANIMAL TORTURE AT GURUGE NATURE PARK

Cruelty to animals displayed and proved at Guruge Nature Park:

A nature’s popular animal park similar to the Zoological gardens in Dehiwala is located at Weligampitiya, in  Ja-ela is called the “Nature’s Park” is patronized by a huge number of enthusiastic people from all over Sri Lanka. It resembles very closely to any other Nature’s Parks in Sri Lanka, but it is owned by a private company.
Anyone who visits this Nature’s Park could see and view almost all animals that one could view at a Nature’s park like the Zoological gardens in Dehiwala. Rare species of  animals  in the likes of Lions. Horses, Deer,  Peacocks, Porcupine, Eagles, Rabbits etc. could be seen in this park. The gravest matter to be concerned about is whether these rare species of animals are looked after the way they should be really looked after or not. One person has sent to our web site these pictures, probably an animal lover to show the grievances that these animals undergo at this nature’s park.
These pictures depict the manner how the Monkeys carrying injuries, Porcupine, and birds without wings are lying in cages helplessly without been attended to by the authorities of the private company, the owners of this nature’s park. This proves without doubt the cruelty to animals which is illegal exercise. In addition there is a lot of doubt whether these animals are properly fed. This is a question that needs to be looked into and probed?
It is a known fact that the Government had already banned these types of Zoological gardens. One would wonder whether the authorities possess the required certificates from Wild life Authorities to run this type of ‘Nature’s Park’. This is quite a puzzling question as this is run on for purely for commercial benefit at the expense of innocent creatures. The authorities should investigate, show interest into these conflicts and resolve them against the obvious cruelty to animals.
Shown below are pictures sent to us of animals who are injured and some who are tied up not allowing them to move about.
