HELICOPTER CANVASSING FOR DEHIWALA-MT LAVINIA MUNICIPAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS

Helicopter canvassing for Dehiwala MC:

A district is smaller than a province....
The town is smaller than a district. What is found in Dehiwala is now a Municipal Council election. The politicians who are usually not seen after a General Election .People are pondering whether they could be seen at all after the Municipal Council elections. What people aspire is the removal of their garbage and tarring of roads and do not intend seeking for jobs.
However it is unfortunate......that the candidates are hesitating to go from door to door to canvass by distributing leaflets. Some do this exercise from helicopters.

Yesterday (Sunday the 18th) evening a helicopter was flying in the Dehiwala-Mt Lavinia area for about an hour dropping leaflets of a candidate. These leaflets were targeted to be dropped into the gardens of voters. When they were read it was revealed that they were leaflets of a candidate contesting on the UPFA ticket. This exercise is sure to have been done at a very high cost.
This candidate who did canvassing from a helicopter is sure to fly in a plane after the election is concluded. It would not be a surprise that the aid that this candidate would give after winning would fall into an ocean beyond Dehiwala-Mt Lavinia.
