Rookantha as the Head of Siyatha FM
The famous musician and singer Rookantha Goonatillaka,it is learnt that has been appointed as the Head of Siyatha FM channel.The Siyatha FM is owned by the husband of famous film star Sangeetha Weeraratne’s husband Roshan and it is reliably learnt that it had been running at a loss.
The main reason to incur loses is because one of its studios was burnt recently by a group of thugs. The reason is perhaps because they had lent their support to General Sarath Fonseka in the Presidential election campaign. Another reason had been that they have been deprived of receiving government advertisements.
Due to losses sustained the Management had to stop printing of their ‘Siyatha’ paper. Due to non payment of wages some employees had left the Siyatha ‘FM’ channel. It is learnt that to make improvements and make it a profitable organisation that the decision of appointing Rookantha as their ’Head’.
