COULD SPEND Rs 85 LAKHS ON A CAR PARK BUT NOT TAKEN ANY ATTEMPT TO PURCHASE A GENERATOR SO IMPORTANT TO CONTINUE COURT PROCEEDINGS:
JUDGES ARE FUMING IN ANGER:
“WHITE FLAG “COURT CASE IS ONCE MORE POSTPONED:
When Karu Jayasuriya was giving evidence in the ”White Flag” court case, like in several earlier instances once more the Court Case proceedings had to be postponed causing inconvenience to many including the Judges, that comprised of a “three Bench” panel. They in anger had confessed that the Government, who could spend Rs 85 lakhs, had not thought of purchasing a generator to be used in the event of a power failure. This was said in sheer anger as this had been a constant occurrence.
When an employee of the Court complex was questioned, the answer was that it was due to an overload of electricity. He revealed that the quantum of power supplied to the court complex is below the required voltage needed.”It is a great loss as the most important case to be heard in the country, was deprived to be heard due to this fault not remedied”. This lapse should have been rectified by the related authorities as this had been a constant occurrence. Providing a generator should have been the first and foremost priority taking into consideration the number of times the power had been interrupted in the recent past during court proceedings, which had forced to postpone important court cases.
