POWER CUT TRUTH REVEALS

THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT RANDOM POWER INTERUPTIONS AT VARIOUS PLACES WITHOUT NOTICE IS UNEARTHED:

It has been reported from by subscribers of electricity from various parts of the country about sudden power cuts without giving any notice. The reliable high ranking CEB spokesmen say that these power failures have not been made intentionally. Anyhow they agree the required optimum water levels in the reservoirs are below the required levels needed for the plants to generate electricity. But with the aid of power plants this problem had been remedied. But due to a certain technical problem the CEB authorities had been unable to supply an uninterrupted service to its subscribers. The Minister of power had added that this problem would be fully sorted out by Sunday.
At a media briefing the Minister did admit that as there was no other alternative, but the power had to be disrupted at any cost. For a day the power interruption is much above 30 minutes until the unresolved problems are fully rectified. It was told that all power generating plants would use all available resources to minimise the problem and by Sunday the matter would be resolved totally.
It was said that during the 1994,during the period of the Chandrika Government people were thoroughly disgusted with the power interruptions exercise and was waiting the nature resolved it.
What the Minister of Power & Energy said is shown in the Swarnavahini Video below:

MEDIA SECRETARY TO THE CEB MAKES HIS VIEWS AT A PRESS BRIEFING:

THERE IS NO INTENTION FOR POWER INTERUPTIONS:
“There is a lot of speculation that there are random power interruptions without giving prior notice to the valued subscribers of the CEB. The main reason is the drastic reduction of water levels in the reservoirs which directly reflects on the various power plants which generate electricity. This has forced the CEB authorities to to interrupt power at some places without giving notice, but not through the country.
The water levels in the catchment areas have been reduced drastically. The levels have been reduces by 25% at Lakshapana, by 9% at Castlereigh,18% at Mousakelle have reduced by these percentages. This has forced to reduce the supply of power as well as water for consumption and other requirements. Unlike during the period 1995-2005 the supply could meet the demand. The Puttalam Lakwijaeys 300 MW power station is still in its experimental stage. In addition defects that exist currently in a number of other power stations have to be rectified. The 300 MW Karawalapitiya power stations too need its defects rectified. It was revealed as a whole the technical problems that exist in most power stations had been the main cause for the interruptions in power. Once these defects are fully remedied a continuous power supply would be restored.
In order to facilitate this exercise a committee has been named led by assistant secretary of the CEB,,the former Chairman of the CEB, Additional General Manager. Tissa Herath,Deputy Chairman of the CEB, Professor in Engineering Anura Wijepala, Advisor to the Ministry, Asoka Abeygunawardena and Petroleum Corporation officials too have been appointed. They would find out new strategies to rectify the prevailing shortcomings. They have made a plea to subscribers to use electricity very carefully.
It had been said that the correct position has been distorted and made the public and he media to panic. It is appealed to the public to refrain from making incorrect remarks to mislead the General public.”
