Malinga forced to retire from test cricket

The Chairman of The selection committee of SLC had said about 48 hours ago that the sick leave of Malinga is fake. On hearing this false allegation Malinga had officially informed SLC from India where he is playing IPL cricket the about the reason for his retirement from Test cricket. This is on the advice of his Orthopaedic Consultant and physiotherapist as he was having a prolonged degenerative chronic condition in his right knee. This injury he had sustained while playing for Sri Lanka in a ODI match against Australia, in Australia back in February 2008.His condition it had been said that will be detiorating further when fielding and bowling for prolonged periods. About his illness he had made known to the SLC authorities two years ago. In fact he had been away from playing Test cricket for nearly two years.
