Villagers boycott shop of Utiya who assaulted samaneras

Horowpathana police who arrested Chaminda Galabada alias Utiya under charges of assaulting two samaneras, with the media spotlighting it was produced before court last eleventh. On that date senior attorneys at law and overall attorneys of Padaviya magistrate court appeared on behalf of the two samaneras; but no attorney at law came forward to appear on behalf of Utiya. 

After being produced before court Kebethigollewa district judge and magistrate, Mr. Harshana de
Alwis ordered that Utiya be send to remand prison till next 24th. After being given the order Utiya had gone round begging on his feet pleading that he would not resort to such behaviour there onwards and the media happened to broadcast how he was taken to the prison. 

The 'dayaka sabhava' of Sri Swarnathilakarama pirivena and villagers are in preparation to impose a Brahma punishment or in other words a punishment where speech is forbidden to Utiya after being released from prison. According to the Brahma punishment they have resolved to refrain from purchasing anything from Utiya's boutique and to avoid engaging in any speech with him. The two samaneras who were hospitalised because of Utiya's assault have been once again brought to the said pirivena, it is reported.
