Mahinda Rajapaksa's eldest son Namal who is hoping to celebrate his wedding on a grand scale on forthcoming September 17th is these days highly involved in those matters, it is reported. It was reported that after the law of emergency was approved after a vote in parliament on Wednesday, MP Mr. Namal Rajapaksa together with his comrade Mr Mr. Chanaka had begun distributing wedding cards, political sources too reported. He had thus in fact made an invitation for all 225 to be present
on the occasion of his wedding. The wedding is to be held in Shangri-La hotel, Colombo. Apart from that, village and church customs are to be observed in this respect. While  2019  when Rohitha - Yoshitha turned out to be a decisive year of Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa's political career, Namal too settling down is an occasion which brings solace to that family. Though it is understood that the romance went on for a period of 2 years, nobody knew about Namal's wedding till last moment. 

It then is an open secret that this mater about the wedding came to light because of a joke made by Indian prime minister, Mr. Narendra Mody who happened to arrive in this country after the Easter bomb attack. It was then revealed at that point that Namal was to enter into marriage with Limini after a romance of 2 years which had been in sway. 

Namal of 33 years weds Limini aged 21 years. Businessman Thilak Weerasingha is Limini's father. He carries on a business related to diving and swimming pools with Marina Hotels Holdings. "We have come to know those of Mr. Mahinda's family and associate with them for close upon a period of 15 years. That know-how came into being because of water polo games", he has told. Limini's father has mentioned that she is a loving daughter with different type of qualities. She has followed her education at Colombo Bishop's College and has shown attention to business activities and is a person who has devotion to the arts and someone who displays skills in the art of drumming, her father has said. The father has also added that she was a member of the school local band and has gone further in studying and developing the art of drumming connected to classical African music as well. Limini who completed her advanced level in the year 2017 has in the same year held a concert by the name of 'Ghosha' highlighting her skills in drumming. 

21 year old Limini also has a younger brother named Janith and Janith who still follows his education is presently a student of an international school. Limini's home is situated at Yakkala, Gampaha. Limini has attended Bishop's College from there. Namal Rajapaksa lives on the salary offered for MPs in parliament and Limini who at present is not employed as such will be tying their nuptial cord at Shangri-La hotel on 17th September. After marriage she would be joining her family's business activities.
