The unstoppable clashes between students of two leading schools in Colombo:
It has been reported that owing to a conflict between two factions of students in two leading Colombo schools even had led and paved the way to the destruction of private property. Initially it had begun on the 11th Thursday between two factions of school boys in Royal and Thurstan colleges along Reid Avenue.
The clash had begun subsequent to an argument between the students of Royal College and Thurstan College. With the intervention of the Cinnamon Gardens Police personnel they had been able to bring the situation under control. They had been successful in dispersing the two factions in the schools by making them convinced.
The second part of the incident had occurred yesterday the 15th October at Nugegoda. The clash had once more commenced after the completion of tuition classes where students of both schools had attended the classes had been identified. During this clash a student had alighted into a plying private bus which had been attacked. They had got into the bus and had attacked the students who were within the bus. During the attack the shutters of the privete bus had been damaged.
It is reported that in order to bring about reconciliation to this conflict and clash the Mirihana Police personnel had taken appropriate steps. Some students had gone to the Mirihana Police to lodge a complaint. The driver of the bus too, who’s bus was damaged had also gone to the Mihihana Police to lodge a complaint with regard to the damages caused to his bus.
The Mirihana Police has commenced investigations to probe into this conflict and the clashes. In the meanwhile the parents of students of both schools are reluctant to send their children to school because this conflict is yet to be resolved. Yet no one has been able to intervene in an attempt to bring this conflict to an amicable settlement.
