Defeat conspiracies against punishing thieves - "Citizens of the Mandate" to the Presidential Secretariat

A massive protest march, organized with the aim of defeating conspiracies against punishing thieves, corrupt individuals, and drug traffickers, proceeded from Colombo Fort to the Presidential Secretariat at Galle Face.

An enormous crowd participated in this march organized by "Citizens of the Mandate," and the Maha Sangha (Buddhist clergy) took the lead in the proceedings. The protesters carried placards stating "Let's defeat conspiracies against punishing thieves" and proceeded close to the Presidential Secretariat.

There, the protesters emphasized that they wanted to directly hand over a memorandum containing their demands to the President. However, police officers present near the Presidential Secretariat at that time informed the protesters that the President was not there at the moment.

Nevertheless, the police told the protesters that arrangements could be made to hand over the memorandum to officials at the Presidential Secretariat. In accordance with this agreement, the Buddhist monks participating in the protest proceeded to the Presidential Secretariat to hand over the memorandum.
