The committee investigation revealed that the 323 container issue was a 'fabricated lie'.

Parliamentarian Dr. Najith Indika, participating in the Independent Television 'Karaliya' program, stated that the investigation report regarding the 323 container incident would be presented within a few weeks. The minister says that the issue of 323 containers was propagated as a problem by opposition media shortly after the government came to power, and it was a fabricated lie. He added that the committee, which investigated the matter in front of opposition MPs, has now revealed the truth with evidence.

He also stated that steps have been taken to ensure that the disadvantages faced by the government due to not responding immediately to false propaganda will not occur in the future. He said this:

"The 323 container issue. We have learned a good lesson from it. By now, the 323 container issue has been made into a big problem, and a big accusation was brought forward, creating a story that weapons were brought in, and government loyalists did these things. At that time, it was about two months after we came to power when this started to be fabricated. At that moment, we didn't think we needed to answer a blatant lie with no evidence in broad daylight. That was the mistake. Then, by building it up and building it up, finally, committees had to be appointed to bring it to this level. We won't make that mistake now. Now, we will answer any such lie right from the beginning.

So, a Parliamentary Select Committee was appointed regarding this matter. I am also a member of it. It formally met 17 times, chaired by Minister Harshana Nanayakkara. There are four opposition MPs: Dayasiri Jayasekara, Mujibur Rahman, Ranjith Peiris, D.V. Chanaka. You can ask them about it. They have now concluded 17 meetings. I am preparing the report, and it will be released within another month or two. Everyone was summoned. All those who presented logical facts, former DGs, officials, and those with opposing views were all summoned.

One by one, they were summoned... Regarding the 323 issue, he said there were government files. There is such a large file for 323. I'm talking about these documents. So, the entire 323 file, even the confidential documents, was shown to everyone. That means opposition MPs have seen all the details of every container, right? So, if our things were marked by now, it wouldn't be handled this way. Perhaps he doesn't have an understanding of this. But look, the report will be out in a few weeks. And once it comes out, the entire 323 story will be proven false. It will be revealed there that this is an absolute lie. We learned a lesson from this: to quickly respond to the lies created by the opposition, especially the opposition media. Because of this, such things will not happen now."
