Iran's counter-attacks on Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq in response to American attacks on a wedding

In response to an American missile attack on a wedding ceremony in southern Iran that killed several civilians, Iran launched a series of massive missile and drone attacks on American military targets in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The Iranian Red Crescent Society confirmed that this tragic incident occurred due to American missile fragments falling on a house during the wedding party of a young Sunni couple in the coastal town of Kuhestak, located in Sirik County, Hormozgan Province.

Reports from Iranian sources initially showed some discrepancies regarding the damage caused by the incident. The Red Crescent Society initially stated that five people, including a small child, had died, but later revised it to four dead and over 50 injured. Provincial authorities later mentioned that the number of injured had risen from 63 to 68, with the majority being women and young children. It is reported that the condition of most of the injured admitted to nearby health centers, including Minab Hospital, is improving.

This incident occurred during a series of American attacks on Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets located on Iran's southern coast near the Strait of Hormuz. American attacks also targeted areas such as Konarak, Bandar Abbas, Jask, Qeshm Island, Asaluyeh, and Jiroft Airport. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that these operations were conducted in response to attempts to lay naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz and attack American battalions and merchant ships. However, a U.S. military spokesperson stated that their forces never target civilians.

The town of Kuhestak, with a population of approximately 3,000, is known for IRGC naval missile activities, and Iranian analyses indicate that a communication tower was located about 136 meters from the attacked house. It has not yet been confirmed whether the weapon used (which Iranian media identified as an AGM-84 SLAM-ER) was a targeting error or a collateral result of an attack on a nearby military target. Videos and photos released after the incident showed a house with destroyed walls, scattered wedding items, and officials engaged in search operations. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the IRGC strongly condemned this attack and vowed to respond with a severe and regrettable reaction.

In response, Iran's attacks targeted American facilities including the Titin Camp and Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan, Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, and facilities in Erbil, Iraq. Jordan stated that it had neutralized several missiles, while Kuwaiti and Bahraini forces also activated air defense systems against the attacks. American officials stated that no American soldiers were harmed in these attacks.

President Donald Trump warned that if Iran retaliated, more powerful attacks would be launched. This conflict, which has been ongoing for six months, has arisen over asserting power in the oil transportation route of the Strait of Hormuz, and with the latest escalation, world oil prices have also risen.
