Police have launched a comprehensive investigation into an incident where an armed group broke into an airline ticketing and visa issuing agency in the Thalawathugoda area, robbed over six crore rupees and a stock of gold items, and fled.

This four-member robber group, who arrived at the said agency yesterday afternoon, had covered their faces to conceal their identities and came in a white Alto-type small car. Upon entering the agency, they threatened the owner and employees with sharp weapons and carried out this shocking robbery.

Upon examining the security camera footage installed at the location, it was revealed that the robbers first assaulted one of the employees present and then began to rob the property. In addition to nearly 6 crore rupees that were in the agency, they also forcibly snatched 4 gold chains and 3 gold rings worn by the agency owner.

After committing the crime, the suspects fled the area in the same white car they arrived in. Investigations are underway by several police teams to apprehend the suspects, based on security camera footage and other evidence.
