10-day mourning period after the death of the UAE Prime Minister's brother

Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the younger brother of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, has passed away. Following the demise of His Excellency, who was 76 years old at the time of his death, the Dubai government has declared a 10-day period of national mourning.

His Excellency, who served as the Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Police and Public Security, breathed his last on Monday morning, and no official information regarding the cause of his death has been revealed yet.

Commenting on this, Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stated on his 'X' social media account that the UAE and Dubai have lost a great leader. He further mentioned that Sheikh Ahmed, a strong supporter of Dubai's rulers, played an immense role in establishing all armed forces in the UAE. The Dubai Ruler also emphasized that since His Excellency was deeply loved by the people of Dubai and was a leader who greatly loved the people, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Expressing deep sorrow over his brother's passing, Sheikh Mohammed stated that although Sheikh Ahmed has departed from sight, he will remain indelible in the hearts and prayers of the people. He prayed for Allah's mercy and the highest place in heaven for His Excellency, and also sought strength for the royal family members and loved ones to bear this profound grief. The passing of a senior member of the Dubai Royal Family and a prominent leader who held high responsibilities in the state security forces has plunged the UAE Royal Family and the entire government into a deeply sorrowful atmosphere.
