Even if Namal Rajapaksa is put in jail, we will make him president, even from jail.

Former Minister Shanta Bandara states that even if Mr. Namal Rajapaksa of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is imprisoned, his party will work to make him the President of this country, even from prison. He said that the current government is attempting to imprison former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa and Gotabaya Rajapaksa, as well as other former MPs and Ministers, and accused the rulers of trying to break even the public's trust in the judiciary, which is the only trustworthy institution in the country.

He mentioned that as the first step in the operation to make Mr. Namal Rajapaksa president, a public rally will be held on September 12th at Salgadu Grounds in Anuradhapura, and an unexpectedly massive crowd is expected to participate. He also pointed out that during village-level organizational activities, it has been confirmed that a large number of people who voted for the National People's Power in the last election are also ready to join the upcoming meeting on the 12th and express their support for Mr. Namal Rajapaksa.

Further commenting, the former Minister stated:

"Many people are trying to imprison Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa. They are trying to imprison Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Some MPs and Ministers are also trying to imprison. That's not a problem. We have great faith in the judiciary. The only thing left is our trust in the judiciary. The current government is trying to break that too. Even if Mr. Namal Rajapaksa is imprisoned, we will make him president, even from prison."
