The Sri Lanka Navy has successfully rescued two children who were at severe risk of drowning after their jetski capsized while they were engaged in water sports on Lake Gregory in Nuwara Eliya.
A group of naval personnel belonging to the Navy's Rapid Response and Rescue Unit, who were deployed for lifeguard duties at the Lake Gregory premises, promptly carried out this rescue operation.
The two children rescued from the accident are residents of Minuwangoda, aged 11 and 13 years.
The two children, safely rescued by the Navy's rescue team, were later handed over to the Nuwara Eliya Police.
